A HomesToLife sofa is both an investment and a lifestyle expression. Regular upkeep of your sofas will ensure that they retain their shape and they last a long time.
This guide has been designed to help you make the most of your purchase. With proper care and maintenance, your sofa will last for decades. Please follow the procedures outlined in this guide.
UPHOLSTERY CARE
Remodel the upholstery by pulling and smoothing the end of the sofa with one hand, and beating it with the other. Repeat the action for each armrest. Work from the inside out.
Reshaping of cushions
Reshape the backrest cushions by patting and beating them with both hands.Pat and beat the backrest cushion with one hand, using the other to hold the back of the seat.
Dressing
Stretch and level dressing by applying pressure on the seat covering after every use and smoothen any folds and creases in the seats by running your hands firmly over them.
LEATHER CARE
Dust sofa regularly using soft, dry and white cloth or vacuum cleaner with small brush attachment. Clean with soft damp cloth to avoid grease and dirt build up.
Remove water-soluble stains with clean cloth dampened in a diluted neutral soap solution using a circular motion from the outside in. Repeat the same process for grease stains and dry immediately with a clean cloth. *
For regular maintenance, clean regularly using a leather cleaner and conditioner, following the instructions on the label.
*As with all cleaning products, it is recommended to do a patch test before applying conditioner on your sofa. Start with a small amount on a discreet area and leave on for 24 hours to before proceeding to condition the whole sofa.
Maintain a distance of at least 50cm away between your sofa and sources of heat like radiators, hairdryers, washing machines and irons and avoid placing your sofa under direct sunlight or lamps.
Avoid placing sofa under direct sunlight or intense indoor light.
Do not use harsh chemicals such as cleaning agents, household detergents, oils and all-purpose cleaners or unapproved solvents to clean your sofa as this may cause cracks and colour changes.
Do not place sharp objects such as buckles, keys or toys on your sofa.
FABRIC CARE
Dust your sofa including under the seat cushions regularly or with a vacuum cleaner using a small brush attachment. Do not use hard brushes as this may damage the surface and cause pilling.
Maintain a distance of at least 50cm away between your sofa and sources of heat like radiators, hairdryers, washing machines and irons and avoid placing your sofa under direct sunlight or lamps.
Avoid placing sofa under direct sunlight or intense indoor light.
Avoid rubbing coloured/dyed textiles on your sofa as dye transfer may occur.
To remove stains, use recommended cleaners and follow the instructions on the label. Dab lightly with soft sponge and allow to air dry.
